Who is Oh-kuro-nushi?
According to Onisaburo's Reikai Monogatari, Oh-kuro-nushi (Great-Black-Master) is the leader of the Brahman faith with its headquarters in Haruna (present-day Mumbai). He is manipulated by Yamata no Orochi, one of the three major forces of evil that have plunged the world into chaos since its creation. As the czar of evil, Oh-kuro-nushi does an awful lot of bad things around the globe.
The webmaster's note: The Brahman faith talked about in the Monogatari probably has little to do with modern-day Brahmanism. Any religion or teaching that fits the definition would be considered Brahmanistic.
Why Oh-kuro-nushi now?
A great book of prophecies, the Reikai Monogatari centers on the regions in the ages of the gods that would correspond in today's world to the Middle East and India from Vols. 39 through 72--nearly half of the total volumes! The number of books involved shows the importance of these areas, and in light of Onisaburo's concept of kata and of time and space, what happens in these volumes is expected to have an underlying influence on events in the world's most volatile regions.
The webmaster hopes his presentation will help shed light on the recent hostilities in Afghanistan and Iraq, or on what may be in store for Jewish-Palestinian, Indian-Pakistani and other international relations.

How was the Brahman faith born?
Chap. 1 ("Oh-kuro-nushi"), Vol. 39 (dictated Oct. 20-22, 27-29, 1922) of the Monogatari details the origion of this religion. To recap:
- In Tokoyo no Kuni (Land of Eternity; today's North America), Oh-kuni-hiko (Great-Land-Prince; possessed by Yamata no Orochi) proclaims himself as the Tokoyo-shinnoh (divine king of Tokoyo) and wields enormous clout in the region. He calls his shots at the Tokoyo Castle boasting the hollyhock flags (historically, the hollyhock is the crest of the Tokugawa shogunate). But Oh-kuni-hiko often finds his plots thwarted by the Ananai messengers.
- As soon as he hears that the Great Deity Izanami will be coming to the Rockies, Oh-kuni-hiko appears in the Rockies under someone else's name--Hinode no Kami (Sunrise-Deity)--to mislead good deities, while ordering an aide, Hirokuni-wake (Vast-Land-Lord), to guard the castle. His wife-deity, Oh-kuni-hime (Great-Land-Princess; manipulated by the Kimmoh-kyubi evil force), follows suit and passes herself off as the Great Deity Izanami.
- As shown in Vol. 10 (dictated Feb., 1922), the Oh-kuni-hiko forces wage war against good deities (who are also members of the Ananai faith) headed by the genuine Hinode no Kami on the Island of Yomotsu (Hades) in the Pacific, which Onisaburo equates with the lost continent of Mu. He even indicates that Mu is about 2,700 ri (Japanese measurement) in length and 3,100 ri in width. Vol. 12 describes how Yomotsu (= Mu) sinks into the sea.
- The Battle of Yomotsu-hirasaka as it is later called deals a crushing blow to the Oh-kuni-hiko army, and Oh-kuni-hiko turns into a demon of the Rockies, founding the Brahman faith in this area.
- Oh-kuni-wake (Great-Land-Lord), the eldest son of Oh-kuni-hiko, assumes the leader of the Brahman faith and traverses the sea to appear in the City of Iho in today's Egypt. The doctrine of Brahmanism radiates forth like the rising sun and prevails among the locals. People are beguiled into stepping out of the true path and heading for perdition, when some brilliant Ananai messengers come and drive away the Brahman force. Consequently, they flee Iho to the Ken-on-kyo (Home of Manifest Blessing) in Mesopotamia, where they set up their citadel. There they enlarge their sphere of influence by propagating Brahman teachings in Asia Minor, Persia, India and other regions.
- Alarmed by the depraved hearts of deities and the ensuing moral decadence of the world, Kamususanowo tries to regenerate the Brahmans by letting his eight august children sneak into the Ken-on Castle.
- Meanwhile, Oh-kuni-wake dies, and upon his death, his second-hand man, Oni-kumo-wake (Ogre-Cloud-Prince), becomes so ambitious that he usurps the leadership of the Brahman faith and expels the legitimate heir, Kuni-wake-hiko (Land-Lord-Prince)
- Oni-kumo-wake goes on the rampage. Soon afterwards, the Ananai deity Ame no Futodama (Heavenly-Big-Jewel) appears and tries to force him into submission with the divine kototama. However, the uncompliant and atrocious Oni-kumo-wake flees the Ken-on-kyo with Oni-kumo-hime (Ogre-Cloud-Princess), Oni-kuma-wake (Ogre-Bear-Lord) and a myriad other deities in hopes of biding enough time to fight back and overthrow the Ananai faith.
- After their escape, Oni-kumo-wake and his followers transverse the Land of Fusa (Persia) and the Land of Tsuki (India) before holing up in Oe-yama (Mt. Oe) located in the center of Onokoro-jima (Japan). There they are intent on devising a scheme to take the world by storm.
- Then again, driven by the kototama (divine words) of the Ananai messengers, Oni-kumo-wake and other evil deities go across the sea toward Fusa (Persia), gather their remnants, and lurk in the City of Haruna (Mumbai) in Tsuki (India) with a view to restoring their Brahman faith. They gradually regain forces to the point of becoming a mighty force. With the Land of Tsuki (Tsuki meaning "Moon") as the "placenta" (= base, model?) of their conspiracy, they intend to recapture the world. Haruna, located on the west coast of Tsuki, is currently called Bombay (Mumbai).
- Oni-kumo-hiko usurps the name of Oh-kuni-hiko (Great-Land-Prince) and begins to proclaim himself to be Oh-kuni-hiko or Oh-kuro-nushi (Great-Black-Master). He forces his wife, Oni-kumo-hime, to live in seclusion and installs a young beauty, Isono-hime (Stone-Life-Ability-Princess) as his new wife. Moreover, he keeps hordes of mistresses around him, assumes the Great Leader of the Brahman faith, creates a cavern on the side of Kotsu-zan (Mt. Kotsu) near Haruna as his eternal dwelling place whose gate is tightly manned by security guards in order to shun the invasion of pagans.
- Oni-kumo-hiko flauntingly builds an edifice in Haruna, sometimes appearing in public as the Great Leader of the Brahman faith to wield his power over many deities. At night he hides in a cave of Mt. Kotsu to ensure his security. Mt. Kotsu is named Taiun-zan (Mt. Taiun; Taiun meaning "Great Cloud"). Oni-kumo-hiko--alias Oh-kuro-nushi (Great-Black-Master)--avows himself to be the original race of Kshatriya and therefore eligible for governing the Land of Tsuki (India) as its head. The kings of some 7,000 small states within Tsuki swear allegiance to Oh-kuro-nushi, acting subserviently around him.
- Deities gathering at Great Deity Kamususanowo's sanctuary on Mt. Ubusuna in the Caucasus Ranges have left the Land of the Moon unattended for some reason. Getting a swelled head, Oh-kuro-nushi musters all his strength to overrun Ogon-zan (Mt. Ogon; Ogon meaning "Gold"; Ogon-zan is a stronghold of the Ananai faith), the Caucasus Ranges, and Kamususanowo's sanctuary on Mt. Ubusuna. In fact, Ryoshu-zan (Mt. Ryoshu; Ryoshu meaning "Spiritual Eagle") on the borders of Tibet and India and its neighboring Manju-zan (Mt. Manju; Manju meaning "Long Life") often come under the attack of Oh-kuro-nushi's subordinates.
- Kamususanowo feels that the teachings of the Ananai faith have become mostly prevalent in the Onokoro-jima ("Self-Curdling Island"; Japan), the Land of Fusa (Persia), the Dragon Island, the Takasago Island, the Tsukushi Island and other areas. However, he has intentionally left the Land of the Moon (India) unreformed for some reason. This has allowed Oh-kuro-nushi to do what he wants to do, wreaking havoc on wherever he sets foot, expanding his influence by leaps and bounds, and proceeding to destroy the headquarters of the Ananai faith.
- Gathering a myriad deities at the spacious hall of his Iso Shrine in the Caucasus Mountains, Kamususanowo holds a conference to discuss ways to knuckle Oh-kuro-nushi under. Here are some of the attendees: Hinode-wake no Kami (Akatsu no Mikoto), Yashima-nushi no Kami (Kumano-kusubi no Mikoto), Azuma-no-wake no Mikoto (Toh-suke), Tokiokashi no Kami (Moku-suke), Tamaharu-wake, Hatsuwaka-hime, Isoko-hime, Tamakuni-wake (Oto-hiko), Ikuyo-hime, Terukuni-wake (Ume-hiko), Kikuko-hime, Harukuni-wake (Kame-hiko), Asako-hime, Iwako-hime, Imako-hime, Yoshiko-hime, Oh-ryo-hime, Mukade-hime, Umeko-hime, Azuma-hiko, Taka-hiko, Kitateru no Kami, Takateru-hiko, Tamateru-hiko, Kuniteru-hiko, Taka-hiko, and Aki-hiko.
- As a result of consultation, it has been decided that Terukuni-wake (Ume-hiko), Tamakuni-wake (Oto-hiko), Harukuni-wake (Kame-hiko), as well as the duo of Oh-ryo-hime and Mukade-hime will directly advance to the edifice of Oh-kuro-nushi in Haruna (Mumbai).
