| I shall tell you about a problem of engine
control computer (ECU). ECU is always learning driving style of yours. Not only yours but also the weather, temperature, atmospheric air pressure in your area, etc. Also, it is always checking various things like the temperature/pressure of exhaust gas, etc also. However, the computer sometimes learns a wrong information. The wrong information memorised in the computer sometimes causes a problem. Not a few customers inquired about the computer so far, and not a few customers actually purchased it. As you know, engine computer is expensive. However, I am wondering if he really needed to purchase it. |

| If you are planning to exchange ATF, you
have to pay much attention. Car makers normally
recommend owners to exchange ATF every 20,000km
or every 2 years. (of course, it depends
on each maker/car. Some cars don't need to
exchange ATF eternally.) If you keep this
routine, the transmission probably keeps
good condition for a long time. If you are planning to exchange ATF after you drove the car without paying attention to ATF for a long time, you need to be careful. It may cause a serious problem of the transmission. ATF cleans up inside of the transmission, but quality of ATF goes down little by little and it stops working little by little according to the length of time while you are driving. Then, sludge is stuck on the oil lines inside. This doesn't cause a serious problem of the transmission so much for the time being. If something happens, smoothness of gearshift (up/down) may go bad while you are driving the car. Ordinary people normally try to exchange ATF at this opportunity. HOWEVER, PLEASE WAIT! New ATF cleans up inside of the transmission, and it removes sludge at a time. Removed sludge stops oil line inside, and it causes a serious problem of the transmission. Transmission may stop working perfectly. Or, it may be just working without gearshift. In short, it is recommended not to exchange ATF if you come across such a situation. If you want to exchange ATF anyway, I recommend you to take the car to a trustworthy dealer shop who has a special equipment for exchanging ATF. At the least, you can never go to a service station in a town that doesn't have the equipment. If ATF was exchanged by a part timer there, you destroy your transmission.If there is no trustworthy dealer shop beside you, you can never exchange ATF at a time. For example, you can exchange ATF little by little (100-200cc) per month with taking time for 6 months. |
| clicking noise from CV joint |
| When you deeply turn steering wheel while driving in low speed, isn't there a clicking noise from front driveshaft? If so, CV joint may be getting bad. The driveshaft includes 2 joints (inner & outer), and one of the joints is getting a problem. Internal grease spout out probably, and grains of sand is getting into the joint. If the grains badly scratched internal parts of the joint, you need to replace the joint which is expensive. If the noise is still not heavy, the noise may disappear without replacing the joint. Driveshaft boots kit will solve the problem. Of course, you need clean up the joint by kerosine after removing grains of sand. |
