映画『Neil Young Journeys』(DVD, Blu-ray)

残念ながら日本では上映されませんでしたが、ブルーレイとDVDが発売されました。インタビューとライブ映像で構成され、ライブシーンではマイクに付けたカメラにニール・ヤングの吐息がかかり生々しい。なるほど、さすがジャナサン・デミ監督はわかってらっしゃる。因みに題字は娘のアンバーちゃんの刺繍です。演奏は荒々しいのに、どこかほんわかした感じに仕上がっているのは、穏やかに思い出を語るニール・ヤングとかわいらしい刺繍のせいかしら。次のアルバムに収録された「オンタリオ」も、この映画を観てから聴くと感慨深い。

「Musicares」が2010年"Person of the Year"に選出したニール・ヤングを称えるコンサートを同年1月29日開催し、ノラ・ジョーンズ、ジェームス・テイラー、CSN、ジャクソン・ブラウン、ジョン・フォガティ、キース・アーバン、ジョン・メレンキャンプ、Tボーン・バーネット、シェリル・クロウ、レオン・ラッセル、エルトン・ジョン等の豪華アーティストが、ニール・ヤングの名曲を演奏した。ニール本人の演奏はなかったが、客席にはニール夫妻が見られ、最後にステージで挨拶する様子が収められている。ボーナストラックあり。国内盤は一部が日本語字幕。沢山のミュージシャンが出演し、楽しめる貴重な一枚だと思う。
