About the Camera

The first camera I got was a Yashica Electoro 35G. I bought it when I was in my second year of high school. As I remember,The shooting target was a family, casual scenery and stars in the night sky. Color film had a high developer, so I often took black and white photo films. It sometimes looks very beautiful when taken in color films, but After a few years, it faded to violet, It was probably because of the printing technology of the time. My high school club belonged to the Astronomical Observatory. The activities of the 1st grade were mainly sunspot observations during the lunch break. When I recall now, There were many black spots at that time and the activity of the sun was very active. Occasionally, there were nighttime astronomical during club activities, but we didn't take astrophotography. At home, I took a camera in the spring evening to climb a mountain and I photographed the southern sky aiming at the Canopus. The film I used at that time was Kodak High Speed Ektachrome. I climbed the mountain several times and could take pictures once or twice. It was pitch dark when I got off the mountain.

About two years after I entered the company and went out into society, I bought the Pentax SP-2 from Otuka Shokai who sometimes comes to my company. With that as a trigger, In addition to the standard lens, purchase a 200mm lens , 300mm lens and body. I got stuck in the swamp. About a year later, there is a story that came out of Canon from a mount better than screw mount, I changed everything to a Canon. The new camera came out was the Canon F-1. At that time, the camera body alone cost 100,000 yen. By the way, my salary at that time was around 40,000yen. After that, the Pentax SP-2 and lenses are cheaply given to the people of my company, With that as a source, I bought more F-1 body, also purchased two Canon FTB bodies. It Hppened when I got home on New year, The newly purchased Canon F-1 has fallen into the ditch because of when I was shooting a starry sky put the camera on a tripod at night, at that time, strong westsrly was blowing and the camera has fallen down on the tripod. Fortunately, only the 35mm lens was safe, and 47 years later, it's here now.

Afterwards, I repeated transfer to work, the camera is a record of company events and friends morever it was used as afamily record and was no longer suitable for the night sky and flowers. I handed over two Canon FTBs to a colleagu in a new workplace, the only camera left is the F-1 body and the lens is only 35mm and 135mm. Now the days of film cameras are gone, then camera the age of digital cameras. Some people still shoot on film, Mercury battery(MR9HD1.35V) for Canon F-1 has been discontinued, the shutter releases, but exposure metering is impossible, My Canon F-1 and FD lenses are going to sleep for long time. Will these fall asleep forever.

When I was about to give up, A helping hand was reached out. I retired from the company and I'm thinking of taking photos slowly, then I bought a digital camera Sony Alpha 7. For a I was shooting scenery etc. with the accessory lens(28mm-70mm zoom), this acssessory lens can take clean photos, but not satisfied with something. I thought I would buy another lens, but the full size lens for E-mount were few kinds and it was very expensive, at that time, There was a video of the old lens and mount adapter when I watch YouTube, at first I was casually watching but when I looked at it in detail , I thought it was mine. Alpha 7 is a mirrorless camera, it has a thinner body than normal digital single-lens reflex camera, if attach the mount adapter to the thin part, it's can connect other companie's lenses or old lenses. I'm right purchase the mount adapter for FD-lens E-mount from Amazon and took a picture with a 35mm FD-lens attached to the Alpha 7 and it was taken without problems. However, since the focus and aperture are used manually, the focus and aperture are operated on the lens side. When the digital camera settings are in case of aperture priority, if set the ISO in advance on the camera, the shutter speed will set by the camera automatically, also, in case of shutter priority, if set the shutter speed on the digital camera and set to ISO auto, the ISO will set by the camera automatically.

Most of the photos this time were taken the Canon FL 50mm and FD 35mm, and FD 135mm. the Canon FL 50mm and FD 200mm is a junk item, I bought it for total of about 2,600 yen. There was some dirt, but there was no scratch on the lens and there was no problem in shooting, however, since there are many metal parts, it feels a little heavy. You can see the actual image by looking at the photos. Also the F-1 body it seems that size compatible alkaline battery 1.5v can be used, I'm placing an order with Amazon. So I'm going to shoot a film from now on, Oh yeah, next year I would like to revive Ayu fishing. By the way, I take a picture of fishing on a compact digital camera.
